The best AI mixing and mastering tools for Logic Pro

“AI mixing” covers very different tools: an assistant that suggests a starting chain, a smart EQ that balances one track, a website that mixes your stems, and an engineer that works through your whole session. Here is what each kind does in Logic Pro.

Prices and features were checked on each company’s own site in November 2026. Plug-in companies run sales often, so the price you see may differ.

Four kinds of “AI mixing”

  • Mastering assistants listen to your finished mix and set up a mastering chain. Logic’s Mastering Assistant is one.
  • Mix assistants listen to one track and suggest a starting chain, like iZotope’s Mix Assistant in Neutron.
  • Smart processors each do one job automatically on one track: an EQ that balances the tone, a compressor that adapts to the material.
  • Engineers that work on the whole session: you describe what you want and the tool changes every track, then masters. RoEx Automix does this on uploaded stems. TineEQ does it inside Logic.

Which you need depends on where your song falls short. If the mix is good and only needs to be louder, a mastering assistant is enough. If the vocal doesn’t sit in the beat, you need something that works on the tracks, not the stereo file.

Logic Pro’s own tools

Start with what you already have. Logic Pro’s Mastering Assistant analyses your track and applies mastering processing you can adjust. Stem Splitter separates a mixed file into drums, bass, vocals, guitar, piano and other parts, which helps when all you have is a two-track beat. ChromaGlow adds analog-style saturation.

Logic Pro is US$199.99 as a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. Since January 2026 it’s also part of Apple Creator Studio, a subscription at US$12.99 a month or US$129 a year.

Good for: a free mastering pass on a mix you’re already happy with. Not for: balancing the vocal against the beat; that’s still your job.

iZotope Neutron, Nectar and Ozone

iZotope makes the best-known assistive plug-ins. Neutron 5 is a mixing plug-in whose AI-powered Mix Assistant creates a custom signal chain for your audio, which you refine with macro controls or a reference. Nectar 4 is a vocal chain with a pitch module and key detection. Ozone 12 is the mastering suite.

They are deep, professional tools that run as Audio Units in Logic on Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. The assistants give you a starting point on each track you put them on; deciding what to change across the whole song, and why, stays with you. See our TineEQ vs iZotope comparison for more.

Good for: people who want to learn mixing and control every setting. Not for: anyone hoping to type “make the vocal sit in the beat” and be done.

sonible smart: plug-ins

sonible’s smart:EQ 4 analyses a track and balances its frequencies automatically. smart:comp 3 is a spectro-dynamic compressor and smart:limit a true-peak limiter with loudness metering. Each runs as an Audio Unit on Mac, natively on Apple Silicon. sonible lists prices in euros: €129 each, or €399 for the smart:bundle.

Good for: fixing tone on individual tracks quickly. Not for: tuning, arranging or a whole-song mix.

RoEx Automix

RoEx Automix is a website rather than a plug-in. You upload your stems, and it mixes and masters them. It’s free to try and you pay when you download. It doesn’t run inside Logic, so you bounce your tracks out first and get a stereo file back.

Good for: a mix from stems without opening a DAW. Not for: keeping working in your Logic session after the mix.

TineEQ

TineEQ is one Audio Unit with Vocal, Track and Master modes, plus a prompt box called the Sound Engineer. You put it on every track and the Stereo Out, then say what you want in plain words: “the vocal is buried, bring it forward”, “hard autotune on the hook, natural on the verses”, “master it for streaming”, or “finish the song”.

It listens to the whole session first: the tempo, the key, the sections, and which tracks are vocals. Then it tunes the vocals to the key, mixes (levels, EQ, compression, de-essing, space, pan, and moves over time like vocal rides), and masters to −14 LUFS with a −1 dBTP ceiling. In Logic it can also place your hook in every chorus and line up doubles. A whole song usually takes five to seven minutes. Each change comes with a one-line reason, and one step undoes the whole job. Your audio stays on your Mac.

The honest limits: it’s new, it needs a constant tempo, tuning on very low voices can come out grainier, there’s no free trial, and it isn’t available in the EU or UK yet. It costs US$14.99 a month or US$149 a year.

Good for: artists recording vocals over beats who want a finished song without learning to mix first. Not for: engineers who want to set every parameter by hand, or songs with tempo changes.

How to choose

  • Your mix already sounds right and just needs to be loud: Logic’s Mastering Assistant, or an online mastering service.
  • You want to learn to mix and like plug-ins: iZotope or sonible, plus our guide to mixing vocals over a beat in Logic Pro.
  • You want the whole song done from your session, in plain words: TineEQ.

Questions

Does Logic Pro have AI mastering built in?
Yes. Logic Pro’s Mastering Assistant analyses your track and applies mastering processing you can adjust. It works on the stereo output, so it masters; it doesn’t mix the tracks for you.
Can AI mix a song for me in Logic Pro?
Partly, depending on the tool. Assistants like iZotope’s Mix Assistant build a starting chain on the tracks you put them on, and you finish the mix. RoEx Automix mixes stems you upload to its website. TineEQ works on every track of the Logic session from a plain-words request, and you can undo the whole job in one step.
What is the cheapest AI mastering option for Logic users?
Logic Pro’s own Mastering Assistant, which comes with Logic. Logic Pro is US$199.99 once on the Mac App Store, or part of Apple Creator Studio at US$12.99 a month or US$129 a year (prices as of November 2026).
Do AI mixing plug-ins work in GarageBand?
Many Audio Unit plug-ins load in GarageBand, but check each vendor’s requirements. TineEQ works in GarageBand: it tunes, mixes and masters through its own controls and tells you the few steps you need to do yourself, like GarageBand’s own volume and pan.
Do these tools upload my audio?
Plug-ins that run in Logic generally process on your Mac; check each vendor’s privacy policy for what else they send. Web services like RoEx Automix and online mastering sites work on files you upload. TineEQ keeps your audio on your Mac and only sends text, such as levels, tempo, key and what you type.
